Sports Story_With_Links

NHL sports talk.

In this article it talked about Zedno Chara who plays for the Boston Bruins for NHL. It talks about how he was in the Olympics for Hockey in 2010. It talks about how he plays in each game. It also says how each game goes and if he is planning to be in the next Olympics.

NFL sports talk

In this next article it talks about how the Colts just got a new contract with their wide receiver, Deion Branch. It talks about Branches reputation. Branch has 518 receptions, 39 touchdowns, and also has 64 catches.

The second article was a lot more descriptive and talkeand their more about the players ast stats and what he is going to with his football life. The first was less fun to read. The writer did a great job on the second one. I love hockey and I didn't like that article as much it was less interesting.

I think that this video could be journalism because there were a lot of interviews and most of the events were featured in news papers.

Anybody writing or making a video about themselves will try to make them self look good. Bansky could add things he said that he might have never said. Bansky may not put some things into the video because it makes him look bad.

Honestly the video was good but it was very confusing, the whole time I thought that "Mr.Brainwash" was the director but in the end it was Bansky. Bansky made the film into a brainwash for the viewers.

Even though all the facts are correct, there still may be some things and information Bansky didn't put in because he wanted to make 'Mr.Brainwash" look mad and make him look better.

If I had to choose a side I'm going to go with Banskys side because the other guy filmed and used his art as inspiration.  Bansky worked hard to get his art put there and did it all on his own. Mr.Brainwash

By the end of the movie I was very confused, I didn't understand what the main point was of the documentary was.

Sports

Allie Kruger thought that the game was going to go okay, “I’m really nervous, and I don’t know why.”

Everything was pretty slow while the players were warming up. Roosevelt and Hoover were both doing the same warm ups. They both looked about the same in coordination. The players all seemed pretty pumped.

Destine Pailmore started the game for Roosevelt and for Hoover Nyachristmas started. Hoover took the ball for the ball drop.

Roosevelt took control of the ball at 5:50 in the 1st period. The score was 2-4 Hoover. #14 on Hoover took the ball back down the court, and got a basket, which made the score, 4-5 Hoover was still wining.

It was the end of the first quarter it was 5-6 Hoover. It was pretty much an even game so far; the players can all keep up with each other.

5:18 left in the 2nd quarter 9-5 Hoover. “2 on white.” No baskets were made for the free throw.

#14 on Hoover snatches the ball and runs down the court passing everybody and shoots with 0 seconds left and she scores. 16-11 Hoover, end of 2nd quarter.

In the 3rd quarter we lost some players that had to go to the Varsity game. The pace of the game got much slower for Roosevelt and they started loosing even more (Because of lost players). 6:00 min left in 3rd quarter 21-13 Hoover.

Roosevelt’s picking up the pace and the couch put out the “best” 3 players. Roosevelt- #23, #21, #25. Hoover- #14, #32, #24. There was a 3-point shot made by #14 for Hoover.

The ending score was 36-23 Hoover.

“Upset mostly with offence.” The coach said. She didn’t like the score on the scoreboard and thought the offence could have done better.

“No we did not play well, we barely made any of our free throws.” Nani said. Nani was upset because she said, “We missed a lot of opportunities to get caught up to them”.

Winter Break

Winter Break is coming up, student, teachers, and hall monitor's are excited for this break. Winter break is a time to spend with family and friends and enjoy the holidays. That time is right around the corner.

Winter break begins December 20th through January 2nd. That gives us fourteen days of break missing eight days of school days not including the weekends.

James Turner our hall monitor thinks winter break should be a month.
"Its snowy, cold, and we have a few holidays. We should get the whole month of December off" Turner said.

Unfortunately we come back on a Thursday giving us two more days until a weekend.
"We should come back on a Monday, it would do us all a favor" Turner says.

Glass vs Lehrer

http://www.ithenticate.com/plagiarism-detection-blog/bid/89793/Top-Plagiarism-Scandals-of-2012

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/06/07/jonah-lehrer-book-proposal-plagiarism_n_3404133.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonah_Lehrer

Many people plagiarism but another big one besides Steven Glass was Jonah Lehrer. Lehrer was a was a well-known science journalist. He wrote for New York Times, The New Yorker and Wired Magazine. Lehrer would sell his work twice. Also during interviews Lehrer would use quotes mostly from Bob Dylan with out quoting Bob Dylan himself.

The difference between Glass's plagiarism and Lehrer's is that Glass took his stories too far. Glass lied and took his lie in to a greater level. Lehrer still didn't do the right thing, but he didn't take it out of proportion.

Although both Glass and Lehrer both didnt do the right thing there stories are smiwlar and also very different. They both worked for major news comapnys, and both plagiarised. I bealive Glass's situation was a bigger deal. Glass made up most of his stories. They even made amovie out of Glass's story. They both had punishments and both have plagirisum on thier records.

The Imposable Review

http://wegotthiscovered.com/blu-ray/impossible-bluray-review/

The review written by Margot Harrison was a good review she talked about how the tsunami effected the family. She never directly said if she liked or disliked the movie. She talked about how the movie had phenomenal scene's and great action.     I agree with Harrison, the movie The Imposable was suspenseful and had some really heartwarming scnce's. The movie had me teary at some points and at the end of the movie I felt different as well as Harrison. We bother really enjoyed the movie and both made us feel warm indies at the end of the movie.

http://www.patriotledger.com/entertainment/movies/x2105865064/MOVIE-REVIEW-The-Impossible-a-shallow-story-about-a-natural-disaster

The review By Al Alexander was about how he didn't like the movie. He thought that it was took a rich white family and showed their story and not the other people who went though a lot worse. Others lost their homes and family's for good.
I somewhat agree with Alexander, he was right about how others had it worse but he doesn't know is that the movie was trying to relate to the viewers. Most likely people with more money will go see a movie in theaters so I think the directer wanted to relate to the people watching the movie.
Other than that I don't agree with him, he was saying that the other people may have had better, more important stories that we should have seen. But they showed the people who lived on the coast and kind of showed what they went though. The movie was focusing on the family but also showed how the tsunami effected the other people.

I feel that Critics judge to much, I know that's what their supposed to do but they think about the bad to much and don't try to sit back and enjoy the movie. People want to go and relax when they watch a movie. You won't enjoy the movie as much if all you're doing is hating on it
